𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐞, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟔𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – Puntland’s Vice President, Ilyas Osman Lugator, officially inaugurated a significant two-day conference in Garowe yesterday, May 5th.

The event was organized by the Association of Puntland Universities (APU) and showcased the research endeavors of its member institutions.

A total of 17 research papers were presented during the conference, focusing on three key areas crucial for Puntland’s development: enhancing public service, improving the quality of education, and strengthening the healthcare sector.

The two-day event also featured a series of debates centered on various socio-economic developments impacting the region.

The Association of Puntland Universities (APU), established in 2024, has committed to playing a pivotal role in the advancement of the higher education sector within Puntland. This conference builds upon recent discussions within the education sector, including a two-day education review conference concluded by the Puntland Education Minister, which highlighted existing gaps in higher education.

The APU’s initiative underscores a concerted effort to address these challenges through research-driven solutions and collaborative engagement among Puntland’s universities.
